Mississippi River burbot?

Today while fishing below lock and dam 5 out of bass camp I believe I caught a burbot. The reason that I believe it was a burbot not a bowfin was that it had two barbels hanging off its chin and it was slimy with no scales unlike like a bowfin, it also didn’t have the black dot on its tail like a bowfin. I have never heard of people catching burbot in the Mississippi before.

After looking at the dnr website it says that burbot can live in the lower Mississippi River. It was only 8 inches.

No teeth that’s what made lean towards burbot.

I’ve never caught a Burbot but I’ve caught a ton of Bowfin. That’s not a dogfish.
