Mississippi River Backwaters Update

    Dave Koonce here….. just giving you an update on the Mississippi River Backwaters,,, finding 3 maybe 4 inches of ice.. lots of unsafe ice..had the hovercraft out… doing a little Search and Destroy Mission… found some bluegills and crappies coming on VMC Tungsten Probe Jigs the VMC Mustache Jig.. pretty much everywhere I went I found fish on the Humminbird Helix Ice but mostly non-aggressive fish. Gills were topping 8 inches Crappies in that 10 to 12 inch range.. It sure was great to be out on the ice… more updates to come The Tug is the Drug !!

    Looking forward to seeing more days on the ice after the first of the year..

    I am certain I will have no problems keeping myself occupied !!!

    No major life changes really… lots of the same that i do after I get out of work….Just now I’ll be getting to get out alot more during the week when most others are working….

    Congrats on the retirement!!!

    Heading up to pools 7/8/9 next weekend – can’t wait. Gonna be a bit before we are on backwater ice down this way!
