    What’s the scoop on the Mississippi pool 2? I haven’t driven south through the city lately so was curious how the river was looking and if anyone has went out?

    A little open water in the channel, lots of ice near shore. Not yet sad

    Soon. Hope to be out Sunday or Monday. Have heard at least one brave soul was out last week.

    Where is the best place to get on P2? I live in St Paul and would like to try it this spring.

    Depending how the thaw goes, but Hidden Falls, Lilly Dale or 494.

    Are there Wing dams or other year in and out structural things to watch out for? Or are the marked on the GPS?

    494 is open with one boat out this afternoon. Lot of ice floating, but should clear out quickly! Rare use of happy bananna man >>> yay yay yay

    I dropped a jig and minnow down last Saturday thru a hole I cut in 6 inches of clear good ice!

    any new news on this? i went down to the launch on post road and the minnesota was wide open save for a few feet of ice on either side including a large ice chunk at the launch, but that was 3 days ago. Im planning on heading down to launch my boat at the lilydale launch tomorrow morning. tried calling down to the park to see if the launch is open and they said they would drive down and check the launch and call me back…

    There was a large iceberg still hanging onto the liliydale launch as of last night but it may very well be gone by now,not sure.
