why did you delete your post? It’s good information for people that are new to river fishing. When the water is on the way up you will find lots of stuff coming down the river.

I agree, but mostly because someone on here will rip on him for making that post.

I did NOT see the original post. But anytime a post is out here for the sake of education and assisting fellow sportsmen, those that rip on the poster usually get put in their place quite quickly. Now when someone rants about something when it was their own bone-headed fault, then the rips come alive. Again, I didn’t see the original post and I hope all is well and everyone is safe. I fish the river a lot at night and it can be at times miles of idling becuase of debris coming down. Ice chunks can equally do substantial damage. Be safe and get on them!

I’ve been in the boat and hit something 3 times. I must have foul tipped the 3rd time, because I am still at bat. The river should be respected, not only in the spring when things are commonly floating down, but all year.

I agree the river can be a hazordous place to be day or night…Sometimes a friendly reminder of what happened can help us all out. When I was out in P4 Friday night I saw about a 75′ tree floating right down the middle of the channel. I saw it but it is the ones I don’t see that always worry me.

The tailwater is up over 2 feet since Friday morning and Lock and Dam #3.

I had a post made on Friday evening talking about the water rising and debris starting to show up, but was called away and I lost my post. Never had the time to get back to it.

With the second roller being opened up on Saturday or Sunday, there will be trees floating down stream. Use some caution and common sense and you’ll have a good time fishing.

The Great Mississippi River Flush has started.
