Anyone, Bueller….I’m thinking this area might see some MN guys this fall. Wallace, Osburn area. Lots of national forests and NF roads. Seeing if any of you have any information for this area. Don’t know if this is new or not, but according to the ID DNR, if you buy an elk or deer tag, you are able to use that tag towards gray wolf, black bear or mountain lion (if your unable to shoot a deer or elk) pretty cool. But that might also mean, we could be the ones being hunted.

I’ve hunted (archery elk) a couple of times…my first trip was 4 years ago and my last trip was this fall. Amazing country. Tags aren’t too expensive, but there elk herd has been dramatically impacted by wolves in some areas.

We founds some areas this year with fewer wolves and more elk. And more hunters.

All in all, a great destination though.
