My buddy did one one his trailer, he’s pretty mechanical, but he said it was easy enough, I guess I wouldn’t be afraid to attempt it myself, I would think fulton carry’s on I bet you can find some good answers on their site.

Fairly easy if you don’t have brakes.

Anyone ever installed a swing-away tongue on their boat trailer? How much length can it save you? How is the install? Is it better left to a professional, or is it something I could do fairly easily?

Contact Chris Hanson…. He did one earlier this season. He did a little tutorial, looked pretty easy.
Not sure on how much space you can save. It depends on your trailer a little bit.
    Good luck

Helped a friend install a swing tongue on his trailer this spring. The best deal going is being offered by Shorelandr, we got the entire, 6′ long assembly, including wire extension harness, for $85 plus shipping. They have swing toungue assemblies in 3×3 & 3×4 cross-sections, and various lengths. Even if you don’t have a Shorlander, there’s not much to installing it, maybe have to drill some new holes. Nothing wrong with the Fulton DIY kit, just another option.

    bennj,
I live in Montana so that footage is from my hunts the last couple years. I have never hired a guide. Everyhting in the video is of my friends and me on public land DIY hunts in Montana. Glad you enjoyed it.

I love the last clip of the bull bedded down that you PEGGED! Nice clip you have there! How close was that bull to you?

Thanks everyone for the kind words. I know I’m fortunate to live where I do and be able to hunt like I do, but it doesn’t come without sacrifices that’s for sure.

Erick – the bull in the last clip was at 30 yards. I watched him all morning and waited for him to bed down. When he did I then slipped in to 30 yards and waited a little over an hour before he stood up and gave me that shot.

He would have heard my heart pounding out of my chest and the smell of me sharting myself. Again, nice work

    Corey,
Actually a good chunk of that video was filmed in the Charles Russell. I love hunting that breaks country!

Thank you Lucas for sharing your passion with us. It’s easy to see that elk hunting is not just something you do – it’s part of your being. I truly enjoyed your video and I realize that takes a ton of footage and time editing to put it all together. Exceptional work! I look forward to more of your hunts here on IDO!
