    Trying to figure out a clever title for my first ever elk trip post almost broke me . I am way too excited to tell the whole story right now but to make a long story short… my father, brother, myself and a very close friend of the family are heading to Colorado bright and early tomorrow morning. This is the first ever non-whitetail hunt for any of us in the clan and we are overwhelmed, excited, packed and heading west in a few hours. We are hunting with Fawn Gulch Outfitters who will bring us up the mountain on horseback to their drop camp on Thursday and pick us up in 7 days. We will all be hunting but the main priority will be to put my father in a nice and comfy spot (not too far from camp), where he will be able to bust a bruiser . Good luck to those of you in the whitetail woods this upcoming week, sounds like things are really starting to pick up

    I am headed to CO tomorrow night as well! Dad and I are driving straight through, and hunting in Northwestern CO. I have a cow tag and dad has a bull tag, so things should get interesting! Packing is killing me right now…best of luck to you!

    Well, I’m wondering how day 2 of Todd’s hunt is going. I haven’t gotten any texts since Saturday. I’m hoping they are skinning elk.
