Are you ready to go yet, 11 weeks left. I’m spinning twice a week, running twice a week, and working out with a weighted pack 3-4 times a week. Add in weight lifting 4 times a week. My gear is primarily ready for my elk hunt. My bear baits are ready to go. As soon as I get done elk hunting, I hop in the tree to kill a bear. Then its right into deer. Before we know it, we’re ice fishing again, god forbid…lol. My shooting is going good, pins to 90 yards this year, instead of the 110+ my HHA adjustable allowed last year. I had a cusom 7 pin Spot Hogg made for my new Z7. I am extremely happy with both of these. Its coming quick, time to get after it, the animals never take a break…..

Sounds like you are going to come into the season on top of your game Les. I’m slacking in comparison, but I’ve been running 3 times a week and doing pushups, situps, toe raises, and cardio around the house. I’ve been 155lbs for the last 10+ years so no need to lose any weight, just need to get my lungs in shape and train my body to recover from going anaerobic. I will be starting to run/hike with a weighted pack, but it’s tough for me to fit alot of training in while working 12 hour shifts.
I’m shooting 3+ times a week out to seventy yards and feeling good with my shooting. I will switch over to only broadheads in July and won’t shoot another fieldtip for the rest of the season.
Still need to figureout my grocery list and start dehydrating foods. I also need to pick up a few more items to complete my packlist, but all in all I’m feeling pretty good about where I stand as far as getting ready.
I put in for my vacation and I’m going to arrive in my Colorado unit a full 8 days before season to allow for aclimatization and a few bonzai scouting trips into places I feel should hold some decent bucks.
