    Montana Elk draw….

    Successful
You do not have any successfully drawn licenses/permits for drawings finalized so far in 2010.

Just think of what you can do with the money saved! Better luck next year.

I didn’t draw either, but I will be making a drive out anyway to hunt with some local friends in the Big Sky area during bow season. It’ll still be a great time working the camera and bugling for them!

Hopefully you guys spent the $20 for the point?

Plenty of options if you still want to elk hunt. Lots of great OTC hunts available.

Doesn’t look like I drew Utah, 0-3 so far this year. Really have my fingers crossed for the last two draws!

I wasn’t aware Montana allowed the purchase of preference points. Can you point me to that info on their website? Thanks!!

You still have a chance to go by putting in for the alternate drawing.

What part of the state do you guys hunt? I did draw this year and will be heading to the far southwest corner Lima peaks area. Can’t wait, now I need to start getting into shape.

That’s a bummer Big G. Like Les said there is still some good hunting to be had with OTC units if you have you’re heart set on heading west.

We go to the Highwood Mountains, just a couple miles NE of Belt…we have a private ranch, that has a log cabin in the mtns…. it was perfect…. the brother inlaws have been going there for 20+ years, they really don’t care to do a OTC on public land… when you apply Kooty, it asks you if you want to purchase points..not sure if this will work, but I look here for bonus points… Mt bonus pts

Update… just talked to the Bro-in-law…. evidently, they are thinking about putting in for a second draw… it is for Cow Elk or Doe deer only in our area and is with rifles in October. I would really rather do a bow hunt, but if it gets me back in the hills, I think I am gonna try !!!
