MinnKotta Ulterra question

I recently upgraded my trolling motor to a MinnKotta Ulterra and I was told that the first time I use the motor I need to do something to sync up the GPS to the motor or something like that, it involves driving around in a circle the first time the motor is used. I was told I could find how to do this in the owner’s manual. Well I am having no luck finding this and MinnKotta and customer service is not open on the weekend and I would like to get out on the water on Sunday. Does anyone know how to do this or what page of the owner’s manual I can find these instructions on?

SP my Terrova came with a small start up pamplet to get the motor and gps signal synced. Mine is in my boat still in storage so I can’t help right now.

You only have to do that if you have link, or have added the heading sensor. All of the manuals are on their web site. Much better than what they send!

OK that sounds good as I did not get link because most of my fishing is on the river and yes I was looking at the manual that you download and was still not able to find the answer.

Steve, the manual that tells about the circle thing is for the heading sensor.

If you didn’t get the link, you’d have to buy the heading sensor separately. It’s an electronic compass, looks like a GPS puck.

Mine came with the heading sensor, so that is what I have to do the circle thing for correct?
