    Posting this for a friend.

Looking for shop that repairs Minnkota trolling motors. It’s an older Power drive 24V.
It has issues turning, the foot pedal has been replaced.

    I appreciate any recommendations.

Im all in on the minnkota bash wagon. Electronic junk. I miss the old school cable controlled non chipped trolling motors that only cost a fraction of the price of one now and were tough. Instead I continue to dump money yearly keeping my $1200 unit running.

To help you find a minnkota service rep in your area do a google search. You will find what you need.

Jack is a great, no bs guy. He knows his stuff and sometimes he’ll give up a few fishing tips too. He talks to a lot of people.

I went to him for minnkota warranty. Go figure.

Glad to hear, but I think I’ll give Motorguide a crack at my money next. The electronic junk I own now mysteriously stopped working last week….again. checks out fine at the service tech (tab up another $40) Batterys check good. It just might find a home in 600′ depth at the botom of lake nipigon if it craps out on my up coming trip.

Hah, I was just getting ready to post about you Lee.

Lee has been a friend of mine for more years then he would like to remember.

Shot pigeons and ducks together, flew remote control airplane, borrowed my dad Windsor and many other things as we were growing up.

He’s been working on electric motors for over 40 years now.

While having his trolling motor repaired in Mankato he was approached by a fella in charge of service centers and well, here he is.

You might have seen him on my FB page. He played his concertina at my mothers funeral. I swear there was an angle helping him that day because his rendition of Amazing Grace never sounded so good.

Back to repair service. This guy will take care of you and your MinnKota.

The reason I know is because I took typing class with him and I know for a fact it took him 20 minutes to make that post above. He’s dedicated!

Lee, are you selling the MinnKota line as well as repairing them?

Brian thank you for the comments. Yes I can also order any Minn Kota product. Both for Minn Kota and also for Humminbird. Minn Kota has an exchange Program that authorized service centers can use to reduce the cost of a new unit. It does help the customers who wants to trade in their old unit for another. I will try to be forthcoming with any answers That you run across as I get time. I don’t know everything yet, but I do know the people who can help me out when I don’t. Again thank you. Lee. P.S. I’m no longer a slow typer, I typed this in less time than it takes to replace a control board.

Thank you for the advice, I get frustrated when I have expectations for a product and it dosent hold up. We have a pretty large distance between us so I will have to keep trying to work through these issues with the local service guys.
