Minnkota Fortrex 101 thrust Issue

    I seem to be having thrust issues with my Fortrex 101. On the water it doesn’t have the same top end thrust it used to. I obviously thought it was a battery issue but after using it for 5 hrs I come home and it still has 12.2 volts on all batteries. I unhooked one post on all batteries before testing. Has anyone else had an issue like this?

    Test the wires at the trolling motor and see how many volts you have at the trolling motor. You may not be getting 36 volts at the trolling motor.

    I’ve had my same MK bow mount for many years. When I start developing problems, it is usually the boat side plug. One time the resistance was enough to melt both ends. If you pull the wires out of the plugs and see discolored wire, you have oxidation and that builds resistance which in turn reduces current.

    I’m hoping I got it, turned it on to 100 and tested batteries one only had 9.5V with a load…
