I have a red check connection light on one bank. I checked the fuse and the connections and all is good. How can I check to see if that bank is shot?

I would start by swapping the leads on your batteries. Take the bank that is having issues and swap it with one that is not- perhaps it is the battery? If the light stays on for the same bank, and you are 100 percent positive that the fuse is good- I would check it with an ohm meter, it should read zero- and your positive wire is hooked to the positive terminal and negative to negative from the same charge cable, I would look deeper into the issue. Did a cable get rubbed or chewed through? Then I would assume it is the charger itself. If the charge circuit is working, it should be outputting 14 to 14.5 volts.

This is a 10 amp per bank charger. Will a multimeter show volts or amps? I am electrical challenged so thanks for any help. The battery is good, I put a regular battery charger on it and it is taking a charge. I will check the other two leads and see if they are putting out 14v

At the risk of sounding sarcastic, that’s why it’s called a “multi” meter. It can measure amps, volts, and resistance. The labeling around the big knob in the middle lets you know what it’s measuring. Ohms is resistance, Vdc is DC voltage, etc.

Turn it to one of the ohms positions and touch the leads together. It should read zero or darned close to it. Then check the fuse. The fuse should look like zero also. If it doesn’t, then that fuse is blown.

You can also turn the multimeter to one of the VDC positions and see if there’s 14 volts coming out of the charger.

Wish you lived closer, it’s way easier to explain this stuff in person.

Your battery might just be low enough the charger does not recognize it. just take a regular charger and hook it to the battery on the bank that is red and see if it turns orange. If the battery is too low as far as the charger is concerned it isn’t hooked up.

Thanks for the help. I will give it a go tomorrow. I did fully charge the battery with a regular charger.
