Now that it has been very cold for a few days does anyone have any updated ice reports for Minnetonka? If so how’s the bite also?

I was out there on Friday. Found 6″ of ice, and a decent crappie bite on the west side of the lake. Nothing huge, but a couple handfuls of 9-10″ers with small ones mixed in too.

my cousin has been sending me pictures of monster walleye and pike for the last 3 weeks. he wont tell me where hes going though, but I have been researching tracking devices and have plans to put one on his ATV so I should have a report with plenty of pictures of fish soon

oh I and was out on the west side friday, bigger bay, and found 5″ of sort of crappy ice. it was safe enough for walking. should be much more since the weather changed. With the 10 day forecast still having plenty of days with negative temps projected on the low side, I would imagine people will be driving out on the smaller bays within the next 10 days

I have been seeing 3-10 inches in certain areas, still not able to access my Walleye spots but the Crappies are kicking like you wouldn’t believe. I have been doing most of my fishing around dark, in the evening. The larger the bait, the bigger the fish so far this year. -NC
