Queens get another call, and stole something that wasn’t theirs. Just like the call against Mathews a few years ago.

You’re still bound up over something that supposedly happened that dink, what, “a few years ago”?

You need to get an enema, then get on a pablum diet.

Tainted Saints get another heaping helping of Karma’s a Beeeach.

There’s going to be lots of crying about OPI, get serious if they don’t call PI on the clutch and grab by the defender before the catch, no way are they going to call that a push off. You can’t have it both ways.

Happy to see the Vikes send the Tainted Saints home early yet again for a looooooog off season.

Watching the New Orleans “anointed by all Saints” season end this way is very satisfying.
Payton got another dose of Karma, and from the Vikings on top of it.
If you look back in the past twenty years of NFL cheating, the Saints take the Cake. The only team in the NFL to have two coaches suspended for an entire season due to cheating.

That victory was complete coaching and putting your players in position to succeed. Neutralizing the Saints offensive tackles by placing 2 elite pass rushers inside on the guards, not allowing a non-mobile Brees to step up in the pocket. Then controlling the game by running the ball on offense and utilizing play action and roll outs just enough to keep the defense honest.

Great victory, however in the big picture the Vikings have to win 3 games IN A ROW at New Orleans, at San Franciso, at Green Bay/Seattle. To do that back to back to back is a tough task for anybody. I do think they just did the most difficult one first though.

And for anyone arguing that Rudolph had OPI or it wasn’t reviewed. It was reviewed. All scoring plays are reviewed and with the new rules this year, pass interference is part of the review process on scoring plays. Look no further than Diggs TD vs Green Bay in week 2 this year that I’ve linked below. Call on the field was simply Diggs TD. Since all scoring plays are reviewed, the review determined OPI on Cook, 15 yard penalty, no TD.

Cousins better get his track shoes on next week. Bosa and Ford are salivating facing a slow white guy.

Like salivating more than they were against Matt Ryan, Jared Goff or Drew Brees? All of whom they didn’t do much against in the last month? I love this matchup for the purple, any road win is tough especially in the playoffs, but it will be another no one believes in us week. Go Get It!

Your teams problem is consistency and they just shot their wad in New Orleans.

The Niners think they now have a “gold paved road” to the Super Bowl now that Sean Payton and Drew Brees are out of the picture. They also think that the Packers are the most over rated 13-3 team in NFL history.

The 49ers now have a gold-paved path to the Super Bowl

Is that for real? If so, they may have already created some future headlines. The Packers have had a good year and some of their guys have far more postseason experience than the 49ers, so if the Pack were to beat the 49ers you can bet there’d be some coverage of a “Green-and-gold-paved” path.

Maybe a writer needed a headline, I don’t know. I just prefer people wait until wins or losses happen to actually talk about wins and losses.

After the Vikes Whoop the 9’ers the Pack better make dang sure they win.
NOTHING will be sweeter than to win the NFC Conference Championship in Green Bay then go on to win the Super Bowl. That would just about erase everything. toast

Oh its real. They think this because of their experience against these teams during the season. They destroyed the Packers and won a shootout against the Saints in New Orleans. So in their mind they think the Saints can keep up with them and the Packers cannot. And obviously they aren’t taking the Vikings seriously either…

You just never know. It looks like the Vikes may have ended up with a pretty favorable opponent in the 9’ers, current odds say SF but only by 3. Pretty close matchup and certainly a narrower margin than was given to the Vikes for the Tainted Saints game.

But of course, the oddsmakers never factor in the Karma’s a B!tch factor so the Saints go packin’ once again. I mean it’s almost like the Football Gods don’t like filthy, dirty, stinking, POS, douchebag bounty-paying teams…

Good win for the Vikings. Cousins didn’t play Great but came up with a few BIG plays when needed ( Nice to finally see that ) As for OPI on the final play – Did he push off a little – Yep. Was he held a little – Yep. Did they make the correct call – ???? I would hate to see what all the Vikings fans would be saying right now had we lost the game on that same call.

I’ve always hated the overtime rules. I think both sides should get a chance to possess the ball in overtime. They made it a little better when they changed it to you needed a TD and not any score to win but I still think both teams should get a chance to match or better what the team that wins the coin toss does.

Thank you! I actually meant to mention that yesterday. I feel that as a Vikings fan now is the time to bring that up because my team actually benefited from it, rather than complain when it doesn’t work in our favor. I hate that the game can get decided because one team won the coin toss and managed to score a TD. I heard over the weekend a few guys say that you get to put 11 guys on the field either way, so your defense should stop them. I get that, but I still think each team should get a crack at it. Just doesn’t seem right. College has a way more exciting OT.

This is me hijacking a take from KFAN this morning, but thought it was interesting and should mention it in regards to overtime rules. If both teams get a chance, the second team who gets the ball then gets an advantage of having 4 plays to get a first down instead of 3.

However, I agree with fishthumper and Dan that currently the OT rules are jester

As far as OT goes there are 2 legitimate options imo. Going College style, but I’d back it out further to the 40 or 50 yard line so points aren’t guaranteed. Or (especially in playoffs) add on a 10 minute quarter, until one team is ahead at the end of the quarter. However, the NFLPA will likely never go for these options due to health reasons. I’m fine with it as is personally. On to San Fran boys!!!

P.S. I Wonder why the Packers only thread is so dead for the last few months…no faith in your #2 seed cheeseland???

The 1st team who gets the ball also has 4 plays to get a 1st down as well. They don’t have to punt on 4th down. But I do see your point. If they need a TD to match they would always go for it on 4th down where as the 1st team may choose to punt

They’re the most over rated 13-3 team in the history of the NFL (according to the 49ers).

How quickly they must’ve forgotten about losing to that “statue of a qb” Matt Ryan and the lifeless Falcons only a few weeks ago! Wonder what Bosa was doing in that game? Chasing after receivers?

I agree, I don’t understand what the rationale was for changing the OT rules but then still allowing the ending OT if the team that gets the ball first scores a TD, but NOT an FG.

I thought the whole point of the new OT rules were to even out possessions because under the old rules a simple FG ended the game and so the winner of the toss had a huge advantage. So why didn’t they even out possessions so that both teams get the ball at least once regardless of how the first team scores? Thus the coin toss winner would have no specific advantage because regardless of what possession the coin toss winner scores on, the other team would always get the ball to even out possessions.

I don’t know why this is so hard for the NFL league office to figure out. It’s STILL the only major sport that has an OT where one side may never get to play on offense.

As for the reffing at the beginning I got the sense they were letting the game play with out distractions of needless penalties.
I loved it. To over turn a possible push off by replay opens a can of worms. I feel a game needs to be reffed consistantly even in overtime or it becomes a Lambeu field thing. jester

It’s a whole lot easier to get the ball to the point of making a field goal then it is to put the football into the end zone, I believe his the rationale for scoring a touchdown versus a field goal to end a game.

    That’s my take anyway

It was a fun game to watch and congrats to the Vikings waytogo

As a Packer fan it’s fun reading this thread, get out the parade chairs, you squeaked out a wildcard win in overtime- DOMINATION mrgreen

As much as I’d love to see the Packers steal a win with countless bad calls against the Vikings in the NFC championship game…….I don’t see the North making an appearance.

Next weekend is going to be tough for both. Both teams have played some sketchy games this year and they’re both due to lay another egg. Hope I’m wrong, but only time will tell.

Go Pack Go! And Skol Vikes!

Looking forward to sending the Vikes home for a third loss this season mrgreen

Lambeau in January in a primetime championship game against the purple would be nothing short of a blast to watch!

It would be a riot to attend, but I’m sure nose-bleeds would be $500+ a crack lol

    Not at all mrgreen

Just poking at Vikes fans for saying the Packers magically get more calls for them than against them.

When some fans get a bad call go their way it’s crickets or defensive statements.

Every fan is biased for their team. Some much more than others.

A regular sports fan doesn’t care how a call (or no call) occurred, as long as it benefits their team.

A true sports fan steps back with an unbiased opinion and will admit that “Yep, that was a bad call (or no call) that went our way.”

    Which are you???

If you took the jersey colors and logos off, would it make a difference as to what you think on any given play?

(Rhetorical questions for all, not asking you specifically)

Having watched a few Saints games this season, they just laid a turd yesterday. The Vikings played well enough to beat a better team that didn’t play well that day. I’m not a fan of either team, just how I saw it.
