And to anybody still hung up on Cousins and the money. Just remember you could have Nick Foles for 4 years at $88 million who was just benched

Or Jared Goff who was signed even longer for $125 million!

A very business-like win vs a hapless Lions team. 6-0 at home still a game back of the pack

I haven’t watched much of the Vikings this year so I only have one observation and just curious if it’s just me.

Does Cousins have ridiculously more time to work this year versus when we hated him?

Yes, and that probably explains why I don’t hate him as much this year.

A good win. Defence didn’t fall on their face and showed dominance right away.
Offense played very well. Yes I know, we want to see a high scoring game against a team with a losing record. We all know the track record of teams with losing records are a thorn in the backside.
With a very good defense and a good offense the score reflects how it can be if guided correctly with most games.
That said, we never know who will show up on game day. When will the Yo-Yo string break?

Saw waynes do a chest bump that lead to a leg tackle then saw him pull up on a tackle letting someone else do it. devil
I guess I shouldn’t fault him for protecting his body for his future.
    Smart thinking.

Yeah he does. Especially over the last few games I think he’s only been sacked once. They are getting him out of the pocket more, which buys more time. I think his pocket awareness has actually improved some, and the O-line has been playing much better than last year.

It’s a blowout in LA. Combined with a Green Bay win over Chicago earlier, the Vikings remain a game behind the Pack with a week 16 matchup looming on MNF. Hopefully Cook isn’t hurt badly, although Mattsson and Boone are capable of filling in. Man, the NFC is tough this year. They could end up 12-4 or 11-5 and be the 6 seed. The Rams loss at Dallas all but locks up a playoff berth too.

Well,,, things are in position for a great outcome. I think the league has something different in mind for the vikes. devil
One win for the rest of the year though they back into the playoffs to lose first round again. Rinse and repeat.

Looking at potential playoff scenarios, and assuming the the Vikings are the 6 seed, its looking like they’ll be playing either at Green Bay or at New Orleans in the wild card round. I think the Saints are a better team than the Packers but the Vikings are clearly a better team indoors than they are outside on real grass. A road game in January at Lambeau does not look very inviting even though the Packers have not been a convincing team lately. They have 11 wins, but they’ve been in a lot of close games even against poor teams.

I think if the Vikings can just force 7 turnovers every game we will have a good shot at the super bowl!

If the Vikings beat GB and Chi at home, can they win the division?

Only if the Packers lose to the Lions in week 17 due to division record.

So who has the tie breaker between 9ers and Vikes? If the vikes win out, which they should, & the 9ers beat rams & lose to Seattle, which they most likely will, The teams will have identical records in overall record, division record, conference record, etc.?

I read in the newspaper at lunch today that the Vikings do indeed hold the tie breaker over the Niners if that scenario plays out. In other words, a date to Philly or Dallas in the first round is still in play should the Vikings win out and the Niners lose 1 of their 2 remaining games.

The Vikings could easily win their final 2 games as they are the only unbeaten team in the entire NFL at home. I wouldn’t count on the Packers losing to the Lions in week 17.

    Monday night, Cousins 0-8
Teams with a winning record, Not exactly stellar.

I just don’t see them beating GB in a big game, even at home.

    Hope I’m wrong

I hope you’re wrong too! But Greenbay isn’t really all that good. As someone said above, they have had some real close games to some real bad teams. Vikes win by 10 Monday night!

We will either get the good GB team or the awful GB team that got smacked by the lowly Chargers and almost lost to the even worse Redskins….You never know which Packers team will show up. Even my friends that are Packer fans know that.

I’m a Packers fan, but they will certainly have their hands full Monday night.

Their [Packers] objective is to win and secure a first round bye. There’s even a chance they could take the first seed spot in the NFC (they have to win against the Vikes and Kitties, and 49ers and Saints need to lose a game)

The Vikings have more to play for than the Packers…..I’d be surprised if they [Vikings] don’t win at home (or at least put up a hell of a fight).

A Packer loss in MN wouldn’t be the end of the world (as long as they win against Detroit)…..more short term bragging rights than anything…..but I’m hoping the Classic Cousins and the Classic Rodgers show up. If that’s the case, it’ll be 27-17 with the Packers on top mrgreen

That said, there’s a statistically a 20% chance right now that they meet again at Lambeau in JANUARY. Oh man would that be a fun game!!

    GO PACK GO!!

Per NFL.com, the tie breakers for seeding are:
    Head to head
    Divisional record
    Conference record
    Record vs common opponents

While the dead horse narrative of Cousins and prime time games is still valid, he has looked increasingly more capable in each of said prime time games he’s been in this season. He’s a different QB right now and I think the combination of being at home and the way he is playing will allow him to have a good night. Not to mention Theilen getting through a whole game last week is HUGE. The passing game is completely different when he is out there. Cousins doesn’t need to be great for the team to win. He just has to keep the offense moving and make a few big plays like he’s been doing.

Now our defense on the other hand……

If the Packers keep turning the ball over they will fall behind fast….three so far

Surprising it’s as close as it is.

The Packers have held the Viking to two first downs so far. Their defense has been money…..39 passing yards for Cousins in the first half…

The Packers offense needs to hold onto the f-ing ball. If they do they’ll win the game.
