New football formation, it’s called the Minnesota choke.

Cousins 1st QB in NFL history to go 0-8 on Monday night. I’m sure it’s just bad luck. Oh, and 1-28-1 when trailing.

Tough loss for Minnesota. I gotta give it to them though, they played a competitive game against a good team on the road.

It was a fun game to watch, they were definitely in it until the end.

The good thing is I won a free lunch from a guy at work…..and the Packers are atop the North )

Cousins played well. Good to see him keeping his cool in big games this year. Kept them in it and put 30 up against Seattle. Defense is a much bigger problem. I didn’t see the final tally but we must’ve given up over 200 yds rushing. Inexcusable.

Also, not a fan of that 4th down play on the last drive.

The difference in the game comes down to 2 bonehead plays by Rhodes. 1. The hit out of bounds penalty. 2. The blown coverage on the TD pass.

Vikes lost momentum when Rhodes made the out of bounds hit.

Did anyone see the smug Rhodes interview pre game? Man, this guy is a cancer that needs emergency surgery! moon

It was a close game in one of the hardest road stadiums to win. I thought Kirk played fine for being under pressure most of his dropbacks… Rhodes needs to see the bench though, he just can’t cover anybody anymore…Special Teams should have been ready for that fake, Seattle does it all the time…

Not disagreeing, but the offense only put up 23 points since we had the pick 6, which isn’t quite as impressive as 30.

Defense was terrible, was listening to KFAN on my way home from the climbing gym last night and they were baffled that Zimmer didn’t make some adjustments on defense.

Seattle was running with 6 offensive line all night and dominating us up front, they were wondering why Zimm didn’t switch to a 5-2 defense to bring in an extra D linemen, instead we trotted out 4 linemen all night. The extra linebacker wasn’t necessary because they have an extra guy that can’t be a receiver. I’m not an expert in any of that stuff, but seemed obvious when they explained it, we were just getting dominated up front. Every first down run seemed to go for 7 yards.

I’m just glad I burned my lawn chair last January. I’ll start building another in 10 years or so.
I’m glad I shut er down when Cook fumble at the start of the second half.
PBS had a good show on about the start of Hershey, Mars, KFC, McDonalds.

I think the play calling at the end killed them. 2 downs to get 3 yards.

I’m not too torn up about a loss on the road to one of the top 2-3 teams in the NFC, we will still finish with a 11/12 win season. I am concerned with how the defense has been playing, from the secondary to the front seven giving up 200 plus on the ground. Zimmer needs to make some significant changes, and fast. I’d consider making Rhodes a healthy scratch this week to send a message and get more run out of the youngin’s. The rush defense I put solely on Zimmer as he did nothing to try and counter the extra O-lineman Seattle ran most of last night. I understand trying to contain Wilson as he’s the straw that stirs the drink there, but at some point you have to stop the bleeding.

The offense only put up 23 given the pick 6 by the defense. And Cousins had a 40 QBR, I don’t consider this “playing well.”

Cousins will never be worth the money we paid for him. He simply can’t win the big game. 0-8 on Monday nights. Losses to the Bear and Packers this season, both BIG divisional games.

I totally agree. Bench Rhodes and let Holton Hill play. He played well last year as a rookie. On the mis-coverage on the long TD, what was Smith supposed to do, let the RB go uncovered so he can go help Rhodes? Rhodes should have seen that and played his man tight, but instead he was lazy and got burned.

It is early, and I hate to throw you purple schmucks a bone, but according to ESPN, there is a possible scenario where the Packers – even with an outstanding 13-3 record, could end up hosting Minn for a Wild Card game. That would be 2 head-to-head games in 3 weeks. Could be fun.

OF COURSE HE WON’T BE WORTH THE MONEY!!!! The market drove the price up. Jesus christ people need to get over this. Who else did you want? Teddy “floats the ball” Bridgewater or Case Keenum wouldn’t have won that game for us. They also wouldn’t have won the Denver game last week. Is he a top 5 qb? No. Is he going to keep you in all of your games and win you some yes. Is he going to be able to beat one of the best pressure qb’s in the game when your defense gives up 400+ yards? NO. Get over yourselves. 0-8 on Monday nights with one of the consistently worst teams in the league and now a team that has NEVER showed up for big games. I’m starting to wish we had keenum the last two years to so all you Cousins haters could see how bad it would’ve been.

The same Anti-Cousin’s crowd would just be complaining that they cheaped out and wouldn’t pony up for Cousins or other FA QB du jour.

EXACTLY! These people want Kirk to have the accuracy of Rodgers, the scrambling skills of Mahomes, and never throw any interceptions, all while being aggressive and letting loose.

And he probably would’ve put up 30 points OR MORE if his top receiver didn’t drop 2 or 3 balls along with Bisi and Irv dopping some as well…..Oh and then there were fumbles…………They had the ball for 20 minutes! That’s it! And it wasn’t because Kirk wasn’t getting first downs, it was because the D couldn’t stop anybody on the ground.

Please correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t Case Keenum play almost the entire 2017 season and take the Vikings to the NFC Championship game?? Then they intentionally got rid of him??

Then the very next year the Vikings didn’t even make the playoffs with Cousins behind the center??

I know a QB is only one part of the equation…..but….yeah

You answered your own question with your last statement. There was no chance he repeated it. We’ll never know, but I’m 100% confident. For whatever reason he had a magical season with Shermer.
Shermer leaves, Flip replaces him. Difillipo garbage game plans probably would’ve had Keenum throwing 50 passes a game too!

“the D couldn’t stop anybody on the ground.” The air also.
What it comes down to is coaching.
We see it every late season with a coach that wont adjust to the game at hand. The coach seems to be playing tick tac toe in his head.

Then again he knows other teams figured him out and pride gets in his way. This group needs guidance and their not getting it.

I may add any team that scores 23 points on offense with a very good defense should win a game. Maybe I’m living in old times

Couldn’t agree with this more. We are finally seeing an offensive coordinator that can adjust after halftime (more frequently than previous regimes anyway), but I have yet to see Zimmer’s defense adjust after a bad first half.

    Conspiracy time.

It was prety weird to see the fake punt from the view from behind the punter as it happened. Kinda had the feel the network new it was going to happen.

I was about 90% sure it was going to happen. They had so many 3rd and shorts during the game there was bound to be one fake punt. They executed it perfectly.

Good point, sad that network tv can foreshadow something like that. Then again the network has supporting staff for this. Waite a minute dont the vikes have something like that?

How will the Vikes respond to this loss?

I think it makes the team better. You can bet the D is embarrassed by that performance. I don’t know what the team does with Rhodes. He has turned into a gaffe machine who rarely makes plays.

I think Cousins’s level of play is progressing in the right direction. Our Offense is dangerous.

That was a tough loss, but I am OK with where the team is right now.

My gosh the sea chickens are literally the best team in the NFC in terms of the standings and the Vikings lost to them by 7 on the road in prime time. I guess the sky is falling now isn’t it? They could easily finish win these last 4 games (3 at home where they are unbeaten and 1 on the road vs a pitiful LA team) and finish the season 12-4, which by most accounts on this thread is an absolutely “terrible” season.
