Thinking of heading down there this weekend for catfish. Is the river really moving or safe enough to boat. Is there a bait store in town saw there is a Running’s. Found 2 landings 1 better than the other? Could not find a good map a lot of rocks or? Thanks! for any info

I do not know that stretch but I do fish the mn for cats and walleyes all through Chaska/ Jordan/ Shakopee area. There are 2 different launches I use. But both areas can offer great fishing

Ah memories of fishing the Minnesota in spring with one eye upriver watching for trees rolling down the river trying to take you out…

there are two landings in town, Riverside and Minnecon.
They are about 5 blocks apart.
There is one NW of town at the Beussman bridge.
on county road 21. The bait store is called R&R bait.
I Haven’t checked on any of them lately though for mud issues.

I guess I haven’t seen it for a couple of weeks, but trees may not be as big of an issue this year. The river was very low going into winter. It came up with the snow melt but that’s easing up now and it definitely had room to fill the banks. The Henderson landing was unusable last fall as the water had dropped well below the ramp leaving about 10-20 ft of pure muck that you wouldn’t even think of trying to back a trailer over. I would think The bait shop would definitely know the landing/river conditions if you called ahead,

The river is not terribly high so far this year, at least in Chaska/Carver area it’s not too bad at all.
