I had seen a picture of the bill on Facebook. MN Muskie and Pike Alliance may have it on their webpage

While I believe $100k to spend on a survey is ridiculous. Like I said on the first page of this post maybe he is trying to represent the people who voted him in. I would find it very interesting to find out how the average joe fisherman feels about this subject.

It looks like they’ve included Majkrzak(the guy from North Dakota with a giant cabin on Pelican Lake who claims there are no walleyes or panfish left in Pelican Lake) who is obviously anti-musky, Majkrzak’s friend(the Ottertail County Commissioner) who is also already anti-musky and someone from the chamber of commerce who will likely also be anti-musky. I’m sure these people will be generously compensated for their time with our money(nice of Ingebrigtsen to pay them back for the donations he got from them by giving them back our money, doesn’t reek of cronyism at all). Guess they didn’t think it was important to actually include someone with a scientific background or anyone who is interested in fishing. Makes perfect sense to leave a convicted poacher in charge of dictating environmental policy…
Where can I find a copy of this bill that passed?
https://www.revisor.mn.gov/bills/bill.php?f=SF3319&b=senate&y=2018&ssn=0
3/26/18 page 6994 refers as passed my guess it was passed out of committe.
Looks like the revised bill was introduced 3/14.
Does not look like it has past outside of committee.
If i remember the origanal bill was passed by committee to be considered for the omnibus bill. This bill maybe a cleaned up version.
As for the survey ! have no problem with seeing what the people think rather than the DNR doing a $250,000 study on a sticker for my boat.
Rumor has it Ingebretsen will take whatever version the musky legislation is in right now to a floor vote today. Anyone know anything more? MN Musky Alliance posted as much today urging emails to state senators with this letter from Rep. Franson, who represents OTC and Douglas Counties, attached.

I read the letter and there is at least one voice of common sense in our state government.
My guess is that Rep. Mary Franson is no expert in fisheries or muskies and walleyes for that matter.
However her position is that “clueless” government officials have no business in managing state fisheries, over and above other government agencies (DNR) specifically trained and paid (by taxpayers as well) to manage the natural resources.
How refreshing, that a government representative is opposing more forms of government.
Couldn’t agree more. Seems she’s listening to the voices of the people in the area and calling to the carpet the noisy few who somehow are getting their voices heard. Fantastic letter.
These anti muskie people will not ever stop. Deals have been made with them and they just keep coming for more.
I also am sick of anti muskie people misleading people with saying that 35% of MN water has muskie in it. NO less than 1.5% of MN lakes have muskies in them.
