Was actually weird because despite the crowds inside, the streets around the convention center were a ghost town, businesses shuttered, empty streets–just seemed lifeless.

Well, on a Saturday even under normal circumstances, down town is dead because no one is at work. Most businesses have never been open on the weekend there other than bars.

I was told the attendance was back to 2020 numbers for Saturday. Sunday was good as well from what I saw, but thursday and friday seemed a bit slower than years past. I will echo the comment about down town being quiet, oddly quiet even. Everyone I talked to sure seemed happy to be back at the show( discounting last year when numbers were way down and there were empty booths).

The one missing thing that I was hoping to see (maybe I missed it??) was Alumacraft’s new “flat-back” design with the rear casting platform over the Rotax outboard. Cant remember what they’re calling it but thought they’d have something at the show. It’s entirely possible I could’ve missed it as I was chasing kids around.

I use to love going to the boat show each year. I could not even count the # of years I went. I don’t think anyone could even pay me to go downtown for that or almost any other event for that matter. I turned down free tickets to two different Vikings games this season as well. Just no desire to go anywhere near downtown.

It didn’t make it to the show this year. The only BRP boat with the ghost drive was the Manitou pontoon.

That seems very odd being that they released video of it last summer and fall. Maybe they are not production ready yet on the Alumacrafts? Makes sense that they would target the pontoon market first as I think it would go over easier for pleasure boats.
