Hello, had the boat out a few times. Feels good. Odd question. The shaft length is adjustable on my Ultrex. If depth isn’t an issue, do you guys or gals have it where it’s flush with the head or do you leave a few inches? It seems like it sits on the mount a little better if there is a few inch gap. How do you handle it? Thanks, Sam

I like it down as far as possible, but I tend to roll cast and skip a fair amount. So I like the head down and out of the way. A few times I’ve left it up and have come in contact with the rod tip on a cast and has resulted in quite the birds nest. A few inches up isn’t usually not a problem.

Good point. Ive clipped their head a few times, too. On another topic, do you use the built in 2D transducer, or do you snake a better transducer down by the prop? I did that on my old boat. Ive been too lazy or cheap to put one on the new boat. Thanks

X2. Also better while in rough water as it keeps the prop in the water.
