Iam going to purchase a Terrova 80lb 24v trolling motor. Iam not sure about the shaft length maybe 54in or 60in not sure if I have the room. I have a 1991 Seanymph 175 Sportfisher. Has anyone installed a Terrova 54in or 60 in on a Seanymph around year 85-95. Pictures would be appreciated Thanks very much Danny

I ordered the Ultrex for my 1996 Sylvan aluminum boat and dealer said 45” was right for my boat.

Thanks for the info. Sylvanboat but 45″ would not be long enough shaft for my boat.

I’d recommend to err on the long side. I had a 60″ on a 1660 Lund Pro V and never regretted it. Was it overkill? Yes. But it never once popped out of the water in the waves.

Seems to me bass fishing is the only time the head sticking up is a bother. I would go to the long side. My brother got $500 off a new one 2 years ago. But the shaft was longer than he wanted. Certified repair station shortened it for $80 or $100. A lot cheaper than if you buy too short. If you fish medium to big water. I’d go 60”.

Thanks B-man and stevenoak I think you two have made real good points about a longer shaft for trolling motor. Danny
