Take the prop off and check the shear pin and remove any line or debris. If the shaft still does not spin, it is probably something inside the motor such as bad or dislodged brushes. I ruined the rear thrust bushing on a Minnkota by driving the boat around with the MK in the water. Prop shaft had enough back and forth play that the brushes disengaged from the armature. Fixed it myself.
Hey guys thanks for the info. So I pulled the lower unit apart looks like I did get water in it. One of the brushes is blown apart. My question now is do I need to replace the piece that holds the brushes or should I be able to just clean it up and put in new brushes? I’ve attached a picture. Thanks.
