I decided to buy a back up remote for my Minn Kota Ulterra and it came with absolutely no instruction on how to sync it to the motor. I know there is a “learn” button on the top of the motor head but don’t know any of the steps to get the beeps. Anyone know the drill?

    TIA

    Remote Learning
The I-Pilot remote is prelearned to the controller from the factory. The top of the controller has a single learn button to allow additional remotes to be added to the system.

    To learn additional remotes:

    1. Power up the trolling motor.
    2. Push and hold the learn button down. A steady audio tone will be heard while holding this button.
    3. While holding the learn button down push any button
    on the remote being programmed.
Three beeps will be heard when the remote is successfully learned.

A remote can only be learned to one controller at a time. a controller can have an unlimited number of remotes learned to it. During the learn process, the remote must start out in the off condition.

If necessary, the remote can be turned off by pressing and holding the Pause button for three seconds

yep sometimes the beep is loud so you have to wait until your partner is far enough away with the truck and trailer to learn your remote to his unit so you can mess with him the entire day.

And if your lucky enough to be fishing next to your buddy on pool 4 you can learn your backup remote to their boat, knock them off anchor lock and steal their spot on the wing dam… Did that once ) Hardy har har
