Might be the circuit breaker pops and then resets after it cools down. Check your wiring for bad connections and corrosion, both at the battery terminal and the motor plug and socket. Then check your battery voltage with a multimeter. Also pull the prop off and check for line or other debris wrapped around the shaft. What brand, model and age is your trolling motor? Do you use an onboard charger? How old is the battery? Is the battery water level full?

How do you have it wired? Do the wires get warm? Does it happen faster on higher speed setting? What size wiring? What size fuse?

I had a powerdrive that would act weird when my tm battery was on its was out. Try a different battery if you have one or have your battery tested.
