Minn Kota pilot legacy remote troubleshooting

    Hey y’all, I didn’t see a minn kota sub group.

    I have an issue with my minn kota riptide pilot remote..

    Was stuck in a big rain storm and I a thinking either my remote or the trolling motor itself has water damage. I changed the battery on the remote and no change.
    After turning the trolling motor on the remote works just fine for a little bit.. later the display on the remote just blanks out.. the last command it was given stays going on the motor.. I have to push two buttons at same time for the remote to turn back on, once I hit any key it turns off again.

    The typically means a weak remote battery. Take the battery out and wipe it real good and see if it reacts any better. If not, try replacing the remote battery.

    If that remote is one that takes coin-style batteries,sometimes a good whack makes it work.Or check the contacts in the battery compartment.

    Changed battery, same thing.. works for a little bit then remote shits out.
