Just bought a new Terrova and this puck was in the box but no instructions.

Is this needed for the spotlock to work? I guess I’m not exactly sure that the heading sensor is for.

You need it for the JOG feature.

It only needs power, and networks VIA Bluetooth.

You’ll need to pair your head with it and calibrate it.

It draws power all the time, so hook it to a switch or to your fuse panel so it can be powered off.

    Thanks guys.

So if I’m just trying it out tomorrow and want to use only spotlock, I don’t need the hearing sensor installed.

Jog and circle are the only features that utilize the HD I believe. Needs to be powered ( as mentioned above) and free of magnetic influence. Does not need to see the sky.

I just read the manual. Can you not extend the power leads?

Test that the Power Cable that powers the Heading Sensor is long enough to reach the power source from the intended mounting
location. If the cable does not reach the battery or intended power source, select a location closer to the source.

I talked to Minnkota this morning and the girl I spoke to told me I didn’t need an in-line fuse. Didn’t think she was correct and she wasn’t.
