Anyone have any experience running a flasher off the Milwaukee Power Source and m18 fuel batteries? I was told the 5ah batteries will power the lx7 for about 10 hrs using the jacket output.

Jacket output must be 12 volt on jacket plug, good idea, should be light enough. Fish safe.

I have used mine with An LX9, Ice 55 and a 597 Humminbird. It reads around 11.7 volts on the LX9. I also use 12v. Milaukee batteries with spade connections. Good luck!

Joe – did the units run for an extended period of time without issue?

I wasn’t able find a Power Source locally, had to order one from Amazon. I’ll test runtime asap using the 4amp/hr batteries.

On the Marcum it does. The 597 would complain of low voltage but still worked. I will dig mine out and do a timed test. Are you running a Marcum or something else?

My volt meter reads 12.3v. The LX9 reads 11.3v. Just started a 5.0 battery and will put the unit outside in near zero degree temps and keep you posted.

Five hours later, unit still at 11.3v. The battery shows one bar. Temps are very cold. Back light on the unit was at 100%. Not bad. The new 9 Ah will be a game changer.

Report – I’ve been using the Power Source with my Milwaukee 4ah batteries, it’ll power fl28 for a couple of days of fishing on a single charge. Slick battery setup IMO. I can drill a few holes, power my flasher and charge my phone all off the same battery. I can’t wait until they release the 9ah batteries. toast

I used a 1meter 12v DC cable that had a standard barrel connector to fit into the Power Source 12v outlet. I added two spade connectors.

The new batteries will fit. I’m on a list to get one from a buddy of a buddy who has a connection with Milwaukee. doah I’ve heard they have more than 2x the 5ah battery capacity, so they should be pretty sweet power sources.

Luke – how much for a 10ah buildup and which size cells would you use?

Also, do you make any of the generic m18 fuel type that are all over amazon?

    Thanks

Have you fried one? The Milwaukee Power Source accessory drops the voltage to 11.9v to power the heated jackets, so you can dongle off that. My only complaint is the PS accessory drains the battery if you don’t pop it off. It’s not a huge drain, but will drop a 4ah battery a third over a week.

The hbird helix runs on 10-20v. I always thought the digital marcums could handle 18volts, but I can’t find any specific info on that. I’ll test my Vex, see if it can take 18. toast

I’ll call them after I fry it, they’s got good CS.. doah I’m mostly joking. I forgot the head unit at home when I ran out the door, so I’ll have to see what the fl22 can handle hooked up to a current limited supply next week. I’m going fishing. yay

I’ve done far more testing with the Marcum. I run the Clean Republic lithiums on all my electronics, the resting voltage is about 13.7volts on those. The vex specs say 200ma @ 12V for all units, they surely drain a bit less current at 13.7, but I haven’t probed the vex units.

Is there any equivalent 12v converter to use for dewalt? I have the usb adapter, just haven’t had time to play with a usb cord and trying to find the positive and negative and what voltage it is at. Thanks!

    @fishwater

By any chance you know what wire gauge is that 12v adaptor? I would like to try it too.
