Other than the redesigned handle mounting,is there a significant difference in the 2 models?I have the first one when they came out in 2014.Started with a 6″ Lazer, but did not like the way it jammed at bottom of hole.Got a 6″ K-drill right after, and performed very well.So I am wondering if the 2804 would get more battery life with a 5.0AH battery?Or just get a 9.0AH battery and use the 2604 until it pukes.

The 2604 has a manual clutch and 750 in-lbs of torque. The 2804 has a digital clutch, 1200 in-lbs of torque and is a bit smaller.

The LED light is also at the base of the handle on the 2804. That location provides better lighting for augering at night compared to the 2604, which is above the trigger and winds up only lighting the flite or plate.

I got to try out the current one,and did not notice much difference. For drilling at night,I usually have a headlamp.I seldom use the handle, like many others.

So I will get a larger battery and run the current until it dies.
