Milwaukee M18 12 amp battery

    I believe 3 4 ah batteries would still be better than 1 12 for weight and convenience of having one charging and one staying warm. I use 4, 5, and 6 ah batteries for my dewalt stuff and I don’t think I’m going to go any bigger than the 6.

    Always good to hear the expert opinion from someone who has never owned or used the product. Sounds like a Yugo owner bashing a BMW.

    If you are referring to me, brand doesn’t matter when it comes to battery size, just stating facts, I don’t really understand your problem with my comment?

    Just going off specs the 12ah is only a pound heavier and a half inch longer/taller than the 6ah.

    How much does the 6ah weight? I would guess about half, just saying, weight is weight.

    I think it was something like 2.5 lbs for the 6ah and 3.5 for the the 12ah.
    So if mass is mass, then carrying two 6ah will be 1.5 pounds heavier than carrying one 12ah.
    I think for ice fishing the 12ah is a no doubter. You’ll get more power/faster holes out of the 12ah battery as well.

    I have an electric, just don’t understand why you guys think a bigger 18v battery will spin faster? Still 18v. I was just trying to be helpful from my experience but it seems that some of you are offended by opinions other than yours.

    Weight is weight and 18v is 18v, but a higher capacity battery will still give the same tool more torque and RPMs. Watch the video if you want to learn something today.

    Yes, it’s still 18v versus 18v. However, in this case it’s a matter of 60 holes on one battery vs 150

    Comes with the milwaukee chainsaw I think which I have been hoping they would come out with for awhile. I get lots of holes drilled in the ice with my 5.0 battery so the 12 should be awesome.

    FYI, the chainsaw comes with 2nd 12ah battery now.

    Home Depot has it available ($399) with a free 2nd battery. I’ve seen the same battery offer a few places online. I think the promotion started 10/30.

    I wanted one, the 2nd battery seals the deal for me. 12ah battery would go along ways on the weed eater also.

    I think I’ll take the weight savings and quicker charge time of two 5ah over the 12ah. not to mention the cost, won’t fit in a jacket pocket, and it’s really usable on a drill or any tool at home other than something stationary or the chainsaw.

    I ran a drain test on the M18 12ah, here’s that data. Gives 11.3ah @18v, 17.1 ah @12v.
