Milwaukee/Liteflite Question

Last spring I purchased a new Milwaukee 2803-20 drill/driver combo. Rated at 1200lbs torque. I mistakenly thought it was a hammer drill. I purchased it with 2-5.0 batteries with charger and case for $160 which was a great deal. Should I have held off and gotten the 2804-22 hammer drill? Am I selling myself short with my current model? The newer hammer drill is almost twice the price.

No need for a hammer drill for cutting ice. The unit you purchased will work just fine.

I have a hammer drill dewalt… When using it on my pistol bit I do not set it to hammer mode. Clearly, this is not the same drill or auger, but I would be shocked if the results were different with a hammer drill and a light flight. With the pistol bit, I works better to not be in hammer mode. Smoother cutting for sure.

Setting should never be in hammer drill mode no matter what drill you are using. When these drills and bits first came out ten years ago hammer drills were the only ones with enough torque for the bits. Even then they were never set in hammer drill setting.

Never put the drill in hammer setting when using bits
