Just ordered a new Milwaukee hammer drill with 2 batteries. One of my old batteries bit the dust. Obviously will use drill mode only is there any difference in the chuck? I could not tell from the pics. Also is the thought the hammer drill will last longer? the sale I got it was cheaper to get the hammer drill so I did.

Hammer drills are extra heavy duty so should last longer.

Have only ever used a hammer drill. Not in hammer mode.

Not sure about the extra heavy duty claim, but manufacturers in the past have recommended against using an auger bit in hammer drill mode Mr Pike fyi.

P.S. How is your niece doing btw?

Any hammer drill will be fine just don’t use it in hammer mode. Also I think Milwaukee has a couple different hammer drill models not sure which one you ordered but the more tourque the better

Erik, Thanks for asking better but a long road ahead for her one leg does not work and can’t eat yet. She is moving to assisted living soon that’s a good sign. Thanks again.
