Milwaukee fuel 18 blower or string trimmer

The 2 stroke leaf blower I found on the side of the road finally died last year and I need a new one for my not huge 100′ suburb lot. I got a “free” Milwaukee bush trimmer when I bought my drill and am pretty impressed with it. I am wondering if any has experience with the Milwaukee blower or string trimmer. Electric blower seems a lot easier for general cleaning, light snow removal and leaves. Wouldn’t mind ditching the gas trimmer too if I am building an army of electric tools. So far I have two 5amp batteries and if these work I’d rather not get more.

    Appreciate any feedback.

My brother has the blower and loves it. I know he has some 9 and 12ah batteries, however. I imagine the 5 would be fine, but I can’t say for sure.

I bought a corded Toro blower a couple years ago, before the Dewalt one came out. Been trying to find a reason to ditch it for a cordless, but I just don’t use it enough to justify an upgrade.

I tried a 20v Black and Decker and it blew but not in a good way. Maybe the higher end brands would be better? I think maybe it comes down to expectations. I think I was expecting too much. I ended up with a back pack blower.

The trimmers though in my opinion are very functional. I’ve used a couple different brands. Long run time and a lot of power. My next trimmer will be an electric and I have a huge yard to trim.

I have the Milwaukee M18 trimmer and fuel V.II blower and can say that I don’t plan on ever going back to gas tools for those purposes for the home I currently have. I have about a half acre suburban lot and think they work great. I got a Milwaukee Fuel drill to run a K Drill and then started adding more tools and batteries and got a good deal on the blower and trimmer combo. The trimmer works very well and also uses very little battery to trim the average yard. A few things to note on the blower, when I did research before I got my blower it sounded like it was a decent step up from the Fuel version I to the version II, so I went with the V II and it is what I would say as “almost” as good as my corded Toro blower for power but cordless so I am very happy. For summer work I can trim the yard and blow off the mower, driveway, and sidewalks with one 9 amp battery. The blower does relatively well int he winter also as the small snow snows ( aprox 2″ or less) can just be blown off my driveway as long as it isn’t wet snow. for longer sustained blower use it can really go thru a battery though, as it can go thru the 9 amp battery in what I would approximate 15-20 minutes and I need a second battery to blow snow off the driveway at times. If i had a larger yard/need I would go back to gas though.

I also have both. There was a special when I bought mine. You got the blower free when you bought the trimmer. Look for that special again this spring. The trimmer also came with a 9 amp hour battery. The trimmer works just as good as the echo gas trimmer I have up at our cabin. For at home it is perfect. the battery lasts quite a while, plenty of power and quiet. The blower is great too, I used it to clean out my gutters. The nozzle is a little too big for this, but it still worked.

I got the same deal as fishingdm and going from gas to these, wow! Makes great sense. I was planning on the new Stihl cordless stuff, but after talking to the salesman I went with Milwaukee as the batteries can be used in 100’s of different tools! A couple chargers, a few battery packs, and a whole slew of Milwaukee M18 tools!

Best thing to happen to me since I met my wife! LOL
