My cousin is marrying a fisherwoman in a couple of weeks and today took her, her dad and future father-in-law. She has been out with me before and faster to catch on than most men and had not forgotten what she learned. Lots of reeling with dad and grandpa had her primed.

Started in the dark 65fow off the filter 65 on top and 52 down 35 and first bite on 6 color Spotted Cow while cousin Randy was about to put the board on so bride missed the first of 4 3yrs olds. I thought off to a good start and shortly thereafter she got a nice bow on Raider Chicken Pox 4 color. 40’ rigger white dodger/Spotted Cow another 3yr old. Next 35’ SWR Green Easter Egg. It was 615 and didn’t want to miss the shallow brown bite so started changing up lures and headed west. 10# king 4 color and Raider Chickenpox surprised us in 45fow.

Fished 25-40fow for browns with 1 mono and a jointed 3 Silver Bullet that never got hit nor the change to a green Scorpion. Two 2 colors 3F Evil Eye Chicken pox and 3F Flame thrower, 3 3 colors and a four color with mostly Andy Reekers doctored with Oz or Dirty Oz but hot one was a Green and sliver Scorpion. Deep rigger 18’ took two with same Andy Reeker. SWRs down 11 and 13 one each with Scorpion Copper and 3F Evil Eye Chicken Pox one each. Dipsy 3 set 30 with White Andy Reeker one and other at 40’ 3 set Wonderbread Scorpion went 2 for 3. I put that one out because My Boy popped a 13# king on that little spoon last week. I got blasted and went from 40’ to 440’ lickedy split. He got it back to 400 and another run and it was gone. I changed out the little trebles for 1/0 siwash and hook was OK so assume it was not hooked in the mouth. At one point had 4 bites in 5 min, 2 dipsys, 1 rigger and 1 board and landed 3. We threw back 5 little browns so had to pay attn. DRx-10 down 20 still 65 in 30 fow running 2.2-2.5. In shallow little or southerly current but about 0.4mph from the north in 75fow.

Things slowed and at 1115 sitting on 16 decided to take advice of someone who also had a good day deeper and slide back out. Hit 65 fow and missed a bow on 6 color Brad’s Kevorkian. Hit 70fow and tripled, 2 color Andy Reeker Dirty Oz, 3 Color with same, rigger SWR down 35 NBK. Now at 19 had to wait an hour to finish off with LT on SWR down 45 with Brad’s Purple Frog.

It has been a long time since a nice box of fish like this. Hope to get out again soon by why or why next 7 days with some sort of east winds.

I checked and all of the 3 yr olds had their adipose fin. Got a text pic from Naze while out there of the 25# Chinook he took in 80fow off Algoma this am. That’s what we wanted.

Nice report as always Grey Beard! It’s nice to see someone finally filling the hooks on the board!

Great catch! That provides some much needed encouragement for this weekend.

Great to see a nice catch like this once again.
Unfortunately I won’t be able to get back at it for at least another
week. Niece is getting married this weekend.

Thanks for the nice report Michael!
