Mille lacs waterfowl

I moved to Zimmerman this summer and most my old duck hunting spots are a bit of a drive I’m interested In doing some cast and blast this fall on Mille lacs anyone duck hunted up there. I’ve got a few ideas on the south and west end where I can get away from houses and might do alright. Can anyone give me some of there experience on Hunting Mille lacs? Any feedback appreciated in advance.

My old stomping grounds as a kid: From Upper/Lower Twin Islands (actually these islands can be good to hunt) head straight south to the shore line. Then follow the shoreline to the east about a mile where you’ll enter a shallow bay rimmed with cattails.

Unfortunately my best hunting always coincided with a good fall walleye bite. The boats kept the birds moving. You can open water hunt Milly. I would look into that.
