Excited to come up the weeek of the 11th and chase Smallies. This will be our first time to Mille lacs. We will be staying in Garrison. Curious if there is decent smallmouth on that side of the lake? Or where you guys reccomend getting started. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Garrison reef is a great spot to start. Really anywhere with rocks is good, including some other spots near there along the north side or down the west side.

You should have no problem finding fish
on the NW and north side shoreline rocks,
    and just off shore reefs.
    Good Luck

We’re going the 8th-10th looking for action mostly pike & smallies. Always have had fun with the pike & an occasional smallie, but they are NICE! Fun to fish a lake that has trophy sized fish of those three species. Walleye fishing is what we do in the evening. It’s a great lake you will love it. There are smallies all over the lake, but you should be able to find plenty of opportunities on the Garrison side. You’ve got Pike point, Garrison Bay, Garrison reef (couple miles out), down the ways (south) you’ve got Seguchie point & Brown’s point. That’s quite a bit to work with depending on how long you’re there. It’s a very large lake & relatively shallow so the wind can give you some waves. But, there is the other sides of the lake. Good luck!!

Keep the boat on the trailer. Wake up look at the flag and go fish the calm side. Not all public landings are deep enough to launch a boat. The entire lake has good fishing.
If you can get a sunny day you should be able to see the fish.

Yep, what Pat said… Almost the whole lake has some rock. We’ve fished Garrison east to the east of Red Door and there is a grea mix of rock wood and sand all the way. The east side of the lake all the way down and around to the SW corner has great mixes of rock.

With walleyes you might have to get in the wind, with smallies you don’t, have fun!!!
