This was my first time ever targeting smallmouth out there. Spent a few hours midday yesterday with my daughter. We got a handful of smallies including our biggest 19.5”. Small suckers on a lindy in 12-15’. Water temp was about 50. It’ll be dropping soon though.

I’ll definitely be doing this again in the future.

Great Pictures. I bet they would fight like beast in this cooler water. I need to get up there and give this fall sucker minnow bite a shot.

Unfortunately I was a little disappointed about how they fought. My buddy who has a fish house up there said every week you could tell their fight was less and less. A good fight nonetheless, I was just expecting a classic smallmouth fight.

Pretty soon they’ll be hibernating for the winter.

Great pics Matt. Great that you get out with your daughter and enjoy fishing.

My past experience with SMB on sucker minnow was fun but definitely leaves something to be desired in the fight department also.
