Has anybody ran out to the mud from the northside? Via snowmobile, SidexSide?
    Concerns? No problem?

I wouldn’t try it. Was out there checking it on Monday and it was 3 ft deep in slush and looked really wide. Sunk down to our knee on our first step and turned the slush like a slushy with the auger and backed out of there. Can come up from the south though. Its just a really long ride to that north mud. Went out of Hunters and got up there just fine. Could have improved with Tuesdays cold temps.

Heading down from Duluth next Saturday. What’s the ice looking like around the mud flats? And how thick is the ice. Thanks guys.

We hit the north end this past weekend and made it to the mud flats. We were the only group on Top End and Myn Mar flats (Top End Friday, Myn Mar Saturday). The ice crack is keeping folks away but once you are over the crack, it was smooth sailing. We went via snowmobile. Myn Mar marina has a bridge over the crack so the $10 road pass is well worth it. The fishing was the best we have ever had on Mille Lacs by a wide margin. Many mid-20’s fish for us including a 24″ and 25″ on tip ups!!

All of you guys thinking of going off roading should look up Jim Staricha of Northland Towing in Isle, Minn. Keep his number handy if you go through.

Also look him up on FB. Follow all of his pull outs year to year. He is working on one now. chased

Ya we will be in snowmobiles and are going through a resort, just trying to get as much info as I can before I head down Saturday. Thanks for the info everyone, I really appreciate it.
