Winter has been really weird this year here in Denver. We go from day where the temps don’t go above 0 to days where it’s been above 50 degrees. Ice has been really good. Staying right around 6-8 inches here in the metro lake. Since we have been able to get on the ice (new year day) the fishing has been pretty good. A vast variety of species have been brought up top site. Walleye bite has been pretty good most of the time. Anything from rattle spoons to tinglers or flash champs does the trick. An avatar of 5-8 fish have been landed (that’s pretty good for Colorado) Minnows on the end of the hook has been the key. Multiple baits tipped with plastics and larva have not produced any action. Crappie bite has been a challenge. Few have been landed. Very finicky. All and all a very successful year. With plenty more day ahead. Tight lines

I miss those lakes and reservoirs so much. There is a laker in Granby that I want to get re-acquainted with again. Been too long

I haven’t fished granby yet. But that’s on my bucket list to land one of those dinosaurs. Hit me up if you ever make your way this way again. Maybe we can get together and catch some.
