Thinking about heading back out to some north metro lakes in the coming week in search of crappie & possibly walleye.
Had luck finding crappies in around 11” of water off a weed line (a couple weeks ago).

Anyone know the typical patterns of crappie & walleye during this stage of winter? Should I be looking for move onto flags in deeper water off breaks? All insight is greatly appreciated

If you found them on a weed line I’d start there. Most of what I have found in and around the metro for crappies is they have been suspended in the basins though.

Early and late day they might be up on the weeds but it’s lake specific. I’d say the same on walleyes. Deeper water mid day, might move up during low light.
