Question for you guys. I’m thinking I’d like to squeeze in one more Lake Michigan trip before winter (October 28th weekend). Are the fish active and available that late in the season? Is it worth the trip over there or should I head west for one more NoDak duck hunt?

    Where in Lake Mich.?

We use to hit Little Bay De Noc the last week of October. Awesome avg. pulling blade harnesses. The weather played a huge factor though. Need to get back up there

Thanks Jeff. I never thought of that. I’d probably be looking for salmon on this trip.

This year has been very poor Jeff…still nothing happening out there yet. Local guides in Gladstone are getting skunked! The fish just arent there…

It’s been poor from the post I’ve been reading on other websites. Guess if it was me, I’d go duck hunting this fall instead.

Ruger – you can fish open water there pretty much year round and find fish…. But given the choice, duck season only lasts ~60 days…

Rug I was out on Southern Lake Mich today for smallmouth. Quite a few boats out trolling for salmon. The guy at the gate where I launched said the Kings were in. I marked alot of fish on the Hammond Shoal 22-28 ft of water. The smallies didn’t want to play today.
