Not Algoma, but darn close…….
We fished 7-30 through 8-2 out of Kewaunee. The surface temp was warm, and the fish seemed to be feeding out of prefered temp range. We had to go down about 65 ft to find cooler water, but caught almost all fish between 25-40 ft down in upper 50’s for temp.
What worked:
Wire and Power Pro dipsies back 80-120 ft with a mag ring pulling blue/cracked ice spin doctor with Little Boy Blue fly, and Rigger back 45 ft and down 35 ft with blue/cracked ice e-chip flasher and Big Weenie “Salty’s glow balls” fly. We also caught fish off 5 and 7 colors of lead on Moonshine spoon’s off boards with Mag Blue Flounder and Flounder Pounder being the best.
What didn’t work:
3 color and 10 color lead run with spoons, flasher/fly, Dodger/fly, J-plug. We also only had one fish on the Secret Weapon Rig with a flasher/Sushi fly, but it was a dandy.
Let me know if you have any more specific questions, and I’d be glad to help.
