Heading there on Friday thru Sunday to fish in my buddy’s Walleye Unlimited club’s annual tourney. We typically fish in the Sturgeon Bay area, which is where the outing is centered. If winds are bad, can usually find a place that’s manageable in the canal. Know where you’re staying yet?

Sounds good- Dad, Marshal, and another buddy of ours are heading that way the 9th through the 15th…emphasis on smallmouth, but if you get into a good bite on walleyes, I might have to beg you for tips!!

While at Dyckesville, don’t overlook doing some casting from shore at Bayshore in the evenings, unless of course, you’re out there trolling at night.
We’ll be targetting eyes, smallies and pike for the one-day tourney on Saturday; based on a point system for each species, max of three fish each, CPR. But Sunday, we typically go after either eyes or smallies, depending on what cooperated best on Saturday. With the warmer-than-usual weather we’ve been having, thinking the smallies may be ripe on opener. While I typically favor chasing eyes, this is one place I stray to smallies. Tough to pass up the chance to boat 18 to 21/22 inch smallies in good numbers.
