A small window of some salmon run action has started, but it’s just on the tip of things starting to happen. The water is in the upper 60’s to low 70’s in close and there is another week of near 80 degree temps headed our way. We fished the pierheads early and went 3 for 5 with glow spoons and fastracks, a very short burst at sun up and then there was nothing. We pushed out to 100 feet and picked up 1 more, but things are still slow. The 41+ lb brown trout caught on the Michigan side of the lake should be confirmed as a new World Record and if there is one out there at that size there has to be a few more that can swim on in at any time.
