I’m looking at taking the hole family to Door County in July for a family vacation. I am looking at staying in the Egg Harbor area.

I’m questioning the fish availability during this time..Whats biting ? Will I have to drive a long way to go find biting fish at this time ? Will my 17′ Lund be big enough to take up there ?

Any and all info would be greatly appreciated

We make a trip every year in late july to baileys harbor with a 16 footer. You have to pick your days, some are just too rough, but when the weather lays down the fishing is great. last year we had kings, cohos, rainbows and even a laker, which is the first we have caught out there in 5 years of going. anywhere from 80-200 feet deep, which isn’t too far out of the harbor. anywhere from a mile out and farther, depending on the conditions.

Dave: You’re on the Bay side but it can be just as rough as the big lake. Had my 16ft Mr. Pike up last year and no issues. Great smallmouth and big pike along those shorlines. The twighlight trolling bite for eyes can be great too. Hard to find small ones. LOL Lot’s of structure up there. Just take a look at your chip maps in your sonar. Don’t forget to look at rules for Great Lakes boat operation. You’ll need flares.
