Well its our turn for sleepless nights!
Guide’s Choice, Outdoor Guy, myself and several hundred other anglers will be on Bays de Noc starting at 12 Midnight Thursday/Friday.
We are looking for a fair bite with late spawn/post spawners that should be present. There have been several factors that have caused a decline in Walleye populations from the “Glory” days of years past, so its “wait and see”.
Air temps from 40s to a high of about 60 with 15-20 mph S winds should thin down the small boaters as the waves will soon exceed 3-4 feet.
I will be pulling and drifting jigs with ringworms/ mini paddletails and also pitching and drifting blades.

    Who else is coming out?

Good luck Tom! I sure miss fishing the Little & Big Bay since I have moved to Southern Wisconsin. The tradeoff has been excellent fishing on the Miss. River.

Let us know how your opener went!

    Tom:

Great to see a post coming from da UP!!! I have been doing well here on the deep clears as fish haven’t transitioned off the shorelines just yet. In fact, while most of the fish we put in the boat two Fridays ago were dripping eggs, we were greeted by two with firm egg sacks this past Monday. It was a little slower, but that nasty cold front on Sat. did a great job of putting them off. I was thinking that we might be seeing the effects of the early post spawn non-feeding to go along with it. Would like to try to see if fish are back on the feed a little tonight, but if the fan stays up, will opt for a smaller lake situation.

Was also hoping to get up there on Sunday for a little early musky, but the plans just didn’t come together for friend of mine that day. Heading down to Petenwell and CR to fish with my youngest brother Sun & Mon, so will miss the northern WI musky opener as well.
