from Capt. Marty Papke;
“Sept 25 Little Bay De Noc Walleye Action”
Water temps dropped dramamtically from yesterday from in the 60’s to right around 57 degrees on the north end to around the low 60’s south. Cold front and cold winds from the West/Northwest made fishing tough but still had a blast out on the lake. Hands were a little chilly but lost one of my biggest fish ever – unfortunately hookset wasn’t good enough and lost the trophy which was definitely a walleye as the way it fought – kept it’s head straight and just pounding. Redtail chubs were the key. Yesterday I also lost another big walleye. We also caught some nice northern just under 30″. Water temps really dropped today. I pulled the pin as I was cold and the winds were hard to fish being a strong gusty West/Northwest wind. But it is still always great to be out on the Bay. I have always loved fishing out here and always will. Have a great day everyone! Remember spend time together is not always catching fish but just fishing and having fun!!
