The big kings are in! Here’s a nice 23# fish I caught surf-casting with Cleos at 1AM on Monday morning near Kenosha Wi… 3 casts, 2 fish, smoked salmon coming up!!! What a riot- casting into the wind (2 foot rollers on a pesky NE wind) and this fish hit 30′ from the beach and just took off. Not for the weak of heart to be sure!!

we call em “screamers” because of the sound your reel makes after you set the hook!

They are fun!!! Used to do that off the Port Washington and Sheboygan walls. Screamers is right, only fish that has burned up one of my drags. Got spooled one night with a kid from downtown Milwaukee standing next to me and he asked “Whatcha goin’ to dooo???” I replied, put on another spool and catch the next one. “Fish on” followed by “Which way is he headed” followed by “He’s headed to Michigan”, “Any one got a knife?” all great sayings in the early morning!!!!
