Fished the 10/13 to 10/15 and had great luck. Chinook salmon were plentiful along with the fisherman. I counted up to 100 anglers both saturday and sunday in one stretch of the river. Monday was nice with only 20 max in the same area. We came home with 8 chinook, 1 coho, 1 brown, and 1 33″ stealhead . We easily could have limited out with Kings, but who needs that much fish!

Were you fishing any where near Lincoln Park? Can you tell me what you were using for bait? And wre the Kings fresh?

We were fishing just below the weir, I am not sure of the name of that park? We use fly rods, but they are rigged with mono only. I think its easier to flip the bait around with mono with all the tree’s around. We were using yarn flies and fake plastic eggs. The water there is going way up so it should be real good this coming weekend. Here’s a great link on the fishing and water level. http://www.dnr.state.wi.us/fish/lakemich/rootriverreport.htm
