Fished morning and evening’s 3-12. Best bite was early a.m, and late p.m. Just before sunrise and just after sunset. About a 30 minute frenzy. After that it was roughly a bite here and there.

Mainly fished 70-110 fow, early and late the bite was best between 20 and 45 feet down, in the column. Later morning, mid-day, and early evening was best towards bottom.

Dipsy bite was great early and late, Downrigger bite was ok, early and late, but really shined when the sun was up. Just had to make sure they were down deep. 6 colors of Lead core on an offshore produced a fair number of bites.

Pump handle with #ball, took some hits and landed some fish, I run just one, and it was right down the chute.

Best colors for me were aqua and little boy blue flies, green/black ladderback, green/blue ladderback spoons, double glow silver horde plugs.

Water temps were around 67-68 when I started fishing, by the 11th they had risen to 72+ on the surface.

Caught a lot of kings, half a dozen rainbows, and a couple of coho’s.

    Here are a few pics

Great pics! did the little fisherpersons get to crank on those big fish? What a great little town! Do you ever have fish smoked at Bearcats? love the brown suger smoked kings! we call that mancandy We had great luck with Bigweenie flys -first time I tried them – very nice material and great hooks! never missed a hit! Mountian dew and then white with a glow squid over the top were big fish producers. We called that Artic sqi (fly and squid)
    Nice report- thanks

My son is 4.5, he had left hand under reel, and right hand on the reel handle. I kept the foreward part of the rod gripped, and he just cranked away. I had the drag set light enough, he just kept cranking until they came in. He worked over two of them. Yep, stopped in to BearCat’s a couple of times, also spent money at Billy Goat’s, and Algoma Sport or whatever it was.

I got a great picture of me and my boys (at the time 11, 12ish) leaning over the back of the boat fighting a fish in Algoma. That wasn’t a good trip I got them both seasick 2-3 times during the 4 days we were over there. That was a few years back- they are now 16, 18 my 16 yo wants to go every year but the other one gets sick just thinking about it. ha-ha Glad you had Fun!
